Clean Context: Documents to Markdown

AI tools are only as good as the context you give them, and most context is trapped in Word files, spreadsheets, decks and PDFs. The usual fix is to upload a confidential document to some online converter and hope for the best.

Clean Context removes that trade-off. It converts documents into clean, AI-ready Markdown inside your browser using local WebAssembly. Files never leave your device, it works offline, and there is no account, API key or quota.

What It Converts

Microsoft Office and OpenDocument text documents, spreadsheets and presentations, text-based PDFs, ebooks, rich-text files and CSV data: 21 file extensions in total. Image-only PDFs need OCR, so they are rejected rather than guessed at.

Web pages work too. Paste a URL or capture the page you are on, and readable content is extracted locally.

The Workflow

  • Review before you convert. Files sit in a queue you control.
  • Inspect the output. Switch between rendered preview, editable Markdown, and plain text.
  • Use it anywhere. Copy it, save a .md file, or place it straight into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity. Clean Context never presses send.
